Fond Farewell

Gene Siskel

1946  - - -  February 21, 1999

Gene Siskel was a Chicago native and became one of the most popular movie critics of all time.  He teamed up with Roger Ebert to give movies either a "Thumbs Up" or "Thumbs Down" rating and their two views often conflicted with each other giving audiences yet more entertainment.  Earlier in 1998 he had brain surgery to remove a growth. Gene Siskel died at the age of 53 and is survived by his wife and daughter.
