Born in Detroit, Michigan, Gilda was a member of the original Saturday Night Live cast.  She went on to make movies and met Gene Wilder on the set of a movie and married.  She was previously married and divorced from G.E. Smit.  She was only 45 when she died in Los Angeles, California of ovarian cancer which was originally misdiagnosed.
