Denver Pyle

May 11th, 1920  - - -  December 25, 1997

Born in a small ranching town of Bethune, Colorado, Denver Pyle was most famous for his role as Uncle Jessie in the Dukes of Hazzard.  He was a true country boy who worked in the Texas and Oklahoma oil fields and enjoyed fishing, reading Mark Twain and Jack London and last lived in Midlothian, Texas.  Oddly enough, his favorite food was Italian. He later joined the army and was wounded in action in Guadalcanal.  He died at age 77 after a long battle with lung cancer.
