This child actress became a tragedy when she accidently overdosed on medication and illegal perscription valium.  She was most famous for her role as Kimberly in the 1978-1982 sitcom called "Different Strokes".  Like most child actors after their famous sitcoms went off the air, she tried desparately for years to make a comeback and be in the limelight again, but it never happend.  Depression lead to drug abuse and she even went as far as making a soft porn movie by the name of the sitcom that made her famous, Different Strokes.  She was arrested several times in the early 1990s for such charges as forging a fake valium perscription, robbing a video store and prostitution, one of which was in Las Vegas.  She was 34 when she died in a Winnebago in Oklahoma.  Dana Plato has one son from a previous marriage and was engaged agaib at the time of her death.
