Robert Pilatus
1966 - - - April 2, 1988
Robert Pilatus was the son of an Afro American soldier and a German mother who was a striptease dancer, born in New York. Pilatus was later adopted by a German couple and raised in Munich. He worked as a model and dancer before joining Fabrice Morvan in 1988 to form the pop group Milli Vanilli. They had won the 1989 Grammy with for best new artist because for the hits Blame it on the Rain and All or Nothing. He and Morvan were later stripped of these awards in 1990 when it was discoverd they had only lip-synched the recordings. Pilatus had a long bout with drugs and legal battle for not showing up in court. He died of an overdose of alcohol and pills determined to be suicide.
