This Blue and Green Eyed beauty at the height of her career was only 5.5' 129 lbs., far different then the nearly 6' skinny models of today. In fact, Bettie has appeared in over 1,000 magazines since 1951 Most photographed woman in history, surpassing Marilyn Monroe & Cindy Crawford combined. She left public life at the height of her career without virtually a trace in 1957 but still remains a pop culture icon. She is imortalized on comic book covers, in photo modeling books, bondage publications and other such items. Bettie started out as a model and actress but then became a teacher and spent most of her post-model career on religious studies. She was divorced 3 times and now lives in Southern California and enjoys Hires root beer and plays the guitar and piano. She does not smoke or drink.
Bettie says she never thought the nudity or bondage photos taken by Irving Klaw was wrong in God's eyes. She just decided to retire to get away from it all. It was rumored that she was kidnapped, killed or held hostage by the mob, for 40 years until she did an interview on her life on E! Entertainment Network on cable TV. When interviewed, she did not want to disappoint her fans with how much she has aged, so she did the interview in silhouette. Today, the legal battles go on as her lawyers and others sue for the royalties for the use of her image for which she never received a dime for. She has been imortalized by Steve Worton, artist Oliva, Dark Horse Comics, Femme Fatale Magazine and numerous others.
