Robert Mitchum

August 6, 1917  - - -  July 2, 1997

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Robert Charles Duran Mitchem became an actor died at age 79 of emphysema just one month before his 80th birthday. He was one of the screen's greatest actors who was grossly misunderstood and under-utilized.  Mitchum had a photographic memory, was an extremely intelligent man, accurately described as a closet intellectual.  A very sweet man, he often hid it behind a rough exterior. He was a unique and very individualistic.
