In 1987 Tim wandered into a pawn shop and found a used guitar. He knew he loved country music, so he decided to buy it and learn how to play. He dropped out of college and went to Nashville. 11 years later he has sold over 10 million records, and 8 number 1 hits, in addition to his many Country Music Awards. He met Faith Hill, his beautiful and talented wife, while on tour together, and they now have to girls together. Tim was raised in Stuart, Louisiana, nearly in poverty, by his mother Betty Trimble and step-father Horrace Smith, a trucker. After his parents divorced, his mother told him at the age of 11 that his father was actually one of his idols, baseball legend Tug McGraw, due to a brief affair his mother had with the ball player.
