A Valentine to Linda from Paul
Linda Eastman McCartney
September 24, 1943 - April 18, 1998
Photographer, Activist, Vegetarian and wife of famed musician and former Beatle Paul McCartney. An American, she is actually a member of the Eastman family who invented roll film, Eastman Kodak. She was a photographer of many rock groups in the 60s including the Rolling Stones, The Doors and others. After she reluctanly married Paul, she went on tour with him with his group after the Beatles, Wings. She was mother of three in addition to being a civil rights activist and a vegetarian. She had one daughter, Heather from her first marriage, and 3 girls and 1 boy from her marriage of Paul. In their 30 years together, the only night they did not spend together was when he was in jail for 9 days after the Japanese government found marijuana in his luggage. She had been through numerous cancer treatments for 2 years, including chemo. She died as peacefully as she could in Arizona near their ranch, it was the only place on the planet where they enjoyed their anonymity. Linda died at age the age of 55 with her family by her side.
