Shari Lewis is most famous for her loveable sidekick puppet named lambchop.  She died at age 65 of uterine cancer. She originally premiered on The Captain Kangaroo Show on television and soon earned her own show on Saturday mornings on NBC-TV.  She had written more than 60 children's books and was the recipient of numerous awards.
