Humphrey Bogart

January 23, 1899  - - -  January 14, 1957

Humphrey Bogart was known for his drinking and smoking, consequently, he died of cancer at the age of 56.  He is best known for his role as the night club owner in Casablanca with Ingrid Bergman.  The lisp he is most famous for he got while in the US Navy.  Some accounts say it was due to fighting, where afterward he was thrown in the brig, or, during the capture of a prisoner, while other accounts claim it was shrapnel metal from the shelling of his ship.  Married several times, he was survived by his wife, actress Lauren Bacall.
