Short Hills is an upper-scale community which is actually part of Millburn Township and most famous for its exclusive shopping mall, which is now smoke-free. It was settled in the early 17th century and got its name from the many mills of that era. Development began in 1877and was planned by conservationist by the name of Samuel Hartshorn, who, rather than laying out a grid of road, followed the terrain to make beautiful winding roads graced by old, large trees which are just a few of the features that make Millburn/Short Hills a very desirable community to live in.
