Without a doubt, the most clever, easiest and best designed chat, file transfer, messaging and fun software application for the internet. It rarely goes down, at least not as often as some of the others. It is a descreet, clean way to leave a message while not clogging your desktop, and is automatically launched ans sits quietly when an internet connection is made. This is all compounded by the fact that it is free. The program allows for file transfers, email, and short messages that have sound a little "uh oh!" and blinks on your Windows 95 task bar. It also has options to hide for privacy while you are busy working, messages for when step away and your friends don't think you are ignoring them, and a DND (do not disturb) unless it is important feature.
Update - - AOL (America Online has acquired ICQ to build a more powerful base. ICQ is still free of charge, as well as the AIM (AOL Instant Messenger).
