Rosh Hashanah marks the Hebrew and Jewish New Year.  It is a time for reflection, repentence and judgement commemorating the anniversary of creation. As is customary on many Jewish holidays, observance begins on nightfall the day before Rosh Hashanah.  They prepare by bathing, getting haircuts, and wearing special clothes.  It is a time for family, food, and children traditionally get treats.
