Labor Day Links & Websites

Labor Day officially ends the Summer season in the United States with massive crowds to the beaches, barbeques and parades.  It also marks a closing of the beaches in many US States.  Labor day falls on the first Monday in September.  It was created by two striking workers in 1872 by the names of Peter and Matthew Maguire from Paterson, New Jersey.  They, along with 100 others went on strike to decrease the hours in the work week.  Canadians also celebrate this holiday, however, to them, it is spelled Labour Day.
