Nero Claudius Caesar

54 AD -  -  - June 9, 68 AD

Nero, along with his uncle Caligula, were known as the most infamous of not just the Caesars, but in all of history as well.  Nero was indeed insane, quite possibly from interbreeding.  Like Caligula (who he admired),  he loved riches and wasting money and would also dress in disguise and go out to the taverns.  Sometimes he would also go breaking into stores and begging for food as a joke, but if they refused, he would cut and wound them.  Once he was nearly beaten to death by a man in the Senate.  After that, he took members of his army with him.  And like Caligula, he also enjoyed tying men and women to a stake and letting wild animals tear them apart.  He was responsible for the murder of his adoptive father Claudius, and tried to poison his own mother three times, and even sent her away on a ship which he knew would fall apart.  She tried to have him murdered, and then committed suicide when she failed.  Nero also murdered his wife Octavia, and stole Poppaea Sabina from Otho, and he later beat her to death during a drunken rage.

Nero did love horsemanship and music, and was said to have a great voice and loved to sing, in fact, he watched Roam burn while playing the a small harp.  He blamed the Christians for the fires he set and had them mutilated in the arena by wild animals or burned to death.  The senate named him a public enemy and at the age of 32, Nero commited suicide by putting a knife in his throat.  The people celebrated and cheered after his death.
