1927 Tokyo, Japan becomes the first nation in the Orient to have a subway.
1970 Paul McCartney sued the other three Beatles to dissolve one of the most famous musical groups of all time, The Beatles. A bitter feud ensued and would last for decades afterward.
1976 The Smothers Brothers team of Tom and Dick played their last show at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
1980 After 25 years, The Wonderful World of Disney on NBC-TV was cancelled, and was the longest-running series in prime time television history.
