1900  Carrie Nation staged her first raid on a saloon at the Carey Hotel in Wichita, Kansas, breaking every liquor bottles there.
1932  Radio City Music Hall in New York City opened.
1938  The first skimobile course in America opened in North Conway, New Hampshire.
1940  Singer Al Jolson and actress Ruby Keeler divorced after 12 years.
1947  Buffalo Bob (Smith) and Clarabelle the Clown (Bob Keeshan) hosted Howdy Doody on NBC-TV and ran for 13 more years.
