1913  The Federal Reserve Act signed into law by US President Wilson to establish 12 Federal Reserve Banks.
1947  John Bardeen, Walter H. Brattain and William Shockley invented the transistor, which replaced the tube and they won the 1956 Nobel prize.
1969  B.J. Thomas receives a gold record for the single "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" from the motion picture, "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid".
