1903  Wilbur & Orville Wright manned the first successful airplane flight near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
1976  WTCG-TV in Atlanta, Georgia, owned by Ted Turner, changed call letters to WTBS and became the first television station in the entire US, available on 4 cable systems and was available in 24,000 homes.
