1868   Legislation that ordered U.S. tax stamps to be placed on all cigarette packs was passed
1985  Treasure hunters began hauling off $400 million in coins and silver ingots from the sea floor from the Spanish galleon, "Nuestra Senora de Atocha", which sank off the coast of Key West, Florida in 1622.  It is said to be the biggest sunken treasure ever.
