1956 The first synthetic mica (synthamica) offered for sale in Caldwell, New Jersey. The crystal-like is substance is still used today in electronic applications to resist heat and electricity.
1939 WNBT-TV4 (now WNBC) in New York broadcast the first fashion show from the Ritz-Carleton Hotel in Manhattan.
