1789  The first US Catholic magazine, "Courier De Boston", was published Boston, Massachussettes.
1772  Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle wrote the French National Anthem, "La Marseillaise".
1872  Charlotte E. Ray became the first black woman lawyer in ceremonies held in Washington, DC.
1985  Coca-Cola of Atlanta made an announcement that it was changing its 99-year-old secret formula, but still keeping Classic Coke.  New Coke flopped but the Coca-Cola symbol is still the most widely recognized in the world.
