1979 Israel and Egypt sign a Peace Agreement at the White House, with US President Carter, Egyptian President Anwar el-Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin.
1997 Headed by Applewhite, the San Francisco, California Heavens Gate cult members found dead by self-inflicted suicide of poison drink. The cult members had their own website and thought that aliens from another planet were coming to pick them up via the Hale-Bopp Comet.
